J. Larry Smart - Chairman and CEO

President and Chief Executive Officer, Larry Smart, joined Visioneer in 1997 and is the leader of our long-term product strategy. Through the years he has led many organizations to success, including Micropolis Corp, Maxtor Corp and Southwall Technologies. Smart has served as Chairman of Solectus, Inc., Wirestone, Inc., Southwall Technolgies, Inc., Savoir Technologies, Inc., Soque Holdings Bermuda Ltd., Polaris Electronics Inc., and Soque Capital, LLP. Smart has also served as a Director of ScanSoft Inc., and International Manufacturing Services, Inc.

John Capurso - President and Chief Operating Officer

John Capurso is a recognized expert in digital imaging technologies and has a long and distinguished executive management career in the computer industry. A 9-year company veteran, Capurso brings over 25 years of experience in digital imaging, document management and printing. He previously served Visioneer as vice president of marketing and prior to that as Vice President of Sales for ScanSoft and Director of Sales at Adobe Systems. Capurso is known for his business acumen and will play a critical role in continuing to grow and build Visioneer.

Greg Elder - Vice President of Finance and Chief Financial Officer

Greg Elder is responsible for finance and administration. Elder has over 14 years of collective accounting, finance and administrative experience in start up and turn around corporate environments. Elder has a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Accounting from California State University, Hayward and a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) degree with an emphasis in Finance and International Business from Saint Mary's College.

Walter Thinfen - Chief Information Officer, Vice President of Support and Services

Walt Thinfen is responsible for directing all aspects of technology, ERP implementation, business process improvement and systems development. He brings to the Visioneer team extensive systems development and information management experience, along with a wealth of knowledge and leadership skills from more than 15 years experience in systems implementation, business operations and project management, with particular expertise in ERP systems including SAP, Oracle and CRM softwares. Thinfen graduated from California State University school of Business Administration with emphasis on Information Systems.

Bob Scaglia - Senior Vice President of Sales

Bob Scaglia is responsible for the company's North America Retail Sales strategy. Scaglia has 12 years experience in the scanner industry. Scaglia joined Visioneer in 1998 and previously held positions in Sales and Customer Service at Mustek Corporation. Scaglia attended Cal-State University Fullerton and holds an Associates Degree in Electronics.

Jon Harju - Chief Technical Officer

Known as one of the industry's foremost TWAIN driver developers, Jon Harju oversees all hardware and software development for Visioneer and Xerox DocuMate scanners ensuring a leadership position in driver development and integration with document management software from ISVs and proprietary applications from major corporations. As President of JFL Peripheral Solutions Inc., an active member of the TWAIN Working Group, Harju serves on the board of directors in the position of Co-Chair and has a solid reputation for helping other developers. Harju also participates in the combined efforts of the most influential document imaging companies to overhaul TWAIN, take it out of the consumer space and make it more appropriate for business and industrial oriented applications.

Jim Tamo – Vice President of Worldwide Distribution and International Sales

Jim Tamo is responsible for the Worldwide Distribution Sales and Channel Marketing teams, with a particular focus on supporting the Developing Markets. He has over 15 years of distribution sales experience including 3 years at a leading distributor and 6 years with Xerox Corporation where he worked as a Document Solutions Executive and Reseller Account Manager. His extensive experience, positive attitude and entrepreneurial vision help make Visioneer the successful international organization it is today. Jim made all conference in tennis both his years at Modesto Junior College and graduated from California State University, Stanislaus with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Marketing.
