VISIONEER TAPS INTO THE INGRAM MICRO SERVICE NETWORK - BOOSTS SERVICE AND SUPPORT CAPABILITIES

New Partnership Enables Industry Leader To Service Complex Multi-Vendor Solutions And Provide Onsite Support To Growing Customer Base

Pleasanton, Calif. -- April 19, 2005 -- Visioneer Inc., a leader in intelligent imaging solutions, today announced it has teamed with the Ingram Micro Services Network (IMSN) to improve and expand the company’s technical customer service and support capabilities throughout North America.

Under the terms of the agreement, Visioneer’s sales and technical support staff will call on the IMSN to address and resolve complex, and in many cases multi-vendor, customer service and support functions that may be out of the company’s market reach or technology expertise.  This ability to ‘dispatch on demand’ will help Visioneer dramatically improve customer service levels without investing in additional infrastructure or service technicians.

As an IMSN vendor partner, Visioneer gains access to more than 800 of Ingram Micro’s best solution provider companies, which is comprised of the VentureTech Network and thousands of certified services professionals, including field engineers, network engineers, project managers and technical support representatives throughout North America.

“By teaming with the IMSN, Visioneer is taking its customer service and support to a new level of excellence,” said Justin Crotty, Vice President Channel Marketing North America at Ingram Micro. “As the industry’s finest technical services organization, we’re thrilled to extend IMSN’s market capabilities to Visioneer and will continue to identify ways we can help increase customer satisfaction, service and support on behalf of all our vendor partners and solution provider customers.”

“The Ingram Micro Service Network is proven to dramatically extend service delivery capabilities to small-to-midsize business customers,” said Rosanne Chasteen, senior director of customer support, Visioneer.  “This new partnership will help us better address the needs of our smaller customers who are struggling with integration or deployment issues, and do not have a dedicated IT support team in-house. Now we can simply dispatch a qualified service technician right to our customer’s front door without any hassle or worry.”

Debuting at Ingram Micro’s Spring VTN Invitational in Atlanta, GA., April 17 - 20, the new Visioneer and IMSN partnership will offer priority service to those solution providers participating in Visioneer’s 20/20 Perfect Vision program - a two-tiered program designed to provide the industry’s leading Value Added Resellers and System Integrators with the products, services, and programs critical to the overall success of a channel partnership.  A complete description of the program benefits, solution provider participation requirements and a program application can be found at http://www.visioneer.com/2020.

“This new partnership gives us the ability to provide onsite services outside the scope of imaging hardware and software to better support our customers,” said Don McMahan, Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Visioneer, Inc. “We are working to design strategic programs that provide opportunities to our solution provider partners as well as a greater value in technical support to our customers.”

Individual and home-based customers contacting the Visioneer customer support center will continue to receive assistance with their product and bundled software from the Customer Service center in Pleasanton, CA.
