Press Release

PLEASANTON, Calif - May 30, 2006 - Visioneer, Inc., a leader in intelligent imaging solutions, today announced an agreement with Compucenter de Mexico, a leader in the imaging, workflow and document management industries in Mexico and Latin America, to distribute Visioneer and Xerox® DocuMate™ scanners to resellers servicing the Mexico and Latin America market.

Located in Mexico City, Compucenter de Mexico has been pioneering the way documents are captured, scanned and stored since 1985.  The company of 25 employees is focused on the process of scanning large, medium and low volumes of documents, extracting textual information from them, and then introducing the electronic information into storage devices (Magneto-Optical, CD, DLT, DAT-DDS, microfilm) for use in retrieval systems, document management systems and workflow.

“We are very pleased to have Compucenter as our primary distribution partner in Mexico,” said Jack Jackson, business development manager for Latin America at Visioneer.  “Compucenter has a strong reputation in Mexico and Latin America.  Their expertise in the document and data management industry will be instrumental in helping Visioneer build and service a solid channel of resellers to cover this strategic and growing international market.”

Visioneer chose Compucenter on the basis of their past success in launching new technologies to the market and their extensive business relationships. Compucenter is a true value added distributor that offers technical support and software development capability. They supply professional document capture and data storage solutions that satisfy their customer’s needs through technical innovation, partnerships, quality products and services.

The move into Mexico signals Visioneer’s first serious entry into the Latin America markets. According to Don McMahan, executive vice president of sales and marketing for Visioneer, “We have achieved some major milestones in the US, including signing more than 1,000 VARs in our first year of launching the 20/20 VAR program. We now have the bandwidth to attack new opportunities and feel that the timing is right to make our move into the Latin markets. The customers in the region have been looking for easier to use solutions like those that our Visioneer OneTouch™ technology provides.  Our broad range of products, from mobile to departmental scanners, fill a void left by the other vendors in this space. We expect great things from CompuCenter and Latin America in general.”

Market Opportunity

Latin America is a large and growing market of over 20 nations with a combined population of 500 million. There is great potential for IT growth in Latin America; already a $25.3 billion market. Through 2008, IDC forecasts that Latin America IT spending will grow an 8 percent annual rate.
