VISIONEER LAUNCHES WEBLOG FOR IMAGING VAR COMMUNITY

Onfolio Partners With Visioneer to Provide Participants with Complete Solution for Reading RSS News Feeds and Publishing to the Visioneer Weblog

Pleasanton, Calif. -- May 16, 2005 -- Visioneer, Inc., a leader in intelligent imaging solutions, today announced the launch of the Internet’s first weblog (“blog”) specifically designed for the imaging VAR community.  Visioneer also announced today a marketing relationship with Onfolio, Inc., an independent software company committed to helping people in business and academics conduct research and manage web information.  Under the agreement, Visioneer will distribute Onfolio Professional, a PC Magazine Editor’s Choice, to all VARs participating in Visioneer’s new 20/20 Perfect Vision Program, so they may join and contribute to the interactive Visioneer VAR blog.

“Blogs are making a major impact on society and in business,” said John Capurso, Vice President of Marketing at Visioneer. “Soaring adoption rates for blogging are changing the way companies raise awareness of their brand, products and services. We will regularly update the blog with compelling and timely posts from key individuals at Visioneer including Channel Sales, Marketing, Support & Service and PR. Participants will see posts there from industry guests as well as Visioneer partners.  The Visioneer VAR blog will be a great destination to keep participants in touch with us and us with you.  VARs will also be able to post comments so that as a Visioneer community we all become better informed.”

In order to communicate regularly with VAR partners on important program updates, news, and announcements, Visioneer has designed a password protected blog. For those of you not familiar with blogs, it is a web site running a log of important information relevant to the reader.  Though blogs have been popular as personal journals in the past, businesses are quickly adopting them as effective means to initiate and participate in online conversations with their customers and partners.  The Visioneer VAR blog will be a great destination to keep our VAR partners in touch with us and us with them.

As part of Visioneer’s blog launch, the company will distribute Onfolio 2.0 Professional Edition to its VAR community as a way for VARs to read and respond to new posts on the Visioneer blog.  Onfolio 2.0 Professional is the only complete PC solution built into the browser with integrated tools for reading RSS news feeds, collecting and organizing online content and publishing to email, weblogs and web sites. Built for people who rely on the web as a research platform at work, school and home, Onfolio 2.0 combines four areas of value– efficiently keeping up with new information on topics of interest, capturing all types of web content into a searchable database on a local PC, organizing web research thoroughly without slowing down the pace of that research, and sharing information publicly or privately as it is gathered.

“We were impressed with Visioneer’s vision to use a blog not only as a means of distributing information to their VARS but also to give those VARs a place to voice their own opinions on the material being presented.” said Sebastian Gard, Director of Marketing for Onfolio, Inc. “This kind of two-way public exchange was part of the original vision of the Web, and an important element in the design of Onfolio. For this reason we are partnering with Visioneer to provide their VARs with copies of Onfolio Professional as an efficient way to collect and contribute information on the web.”

The 20/20 Perfect Vision Program is a two-tiered program designed to provide the industry's leading Value Added Resellers and System Integrators with the products, services, and programs critical to the overall success of a channel partnership.  Visioneer does not have a minimum purchase requirement for basic partner services including sales support, product training, sales tools, marketing programs, superior products, and product support.  ELITE partners are assigned a territory sales representative to assist with channel opportunities and special sales transactions and are eligible for Volume Incentive Rebates (VIR) and Market Development Funds (MDF).  A complete description of the program benefits, VAR participation requirements and a program application can be found at http://www.visioneer.com/2020.
