J. Larry Smart - Chairman and CEO

President and Chief Executive Officer, Larry Smart, joined Visioneer in 1997 and is the leader of our long-term product strategy. Through the years he has led many organizations to success, including Micropolis Corp, Maxtor Corp and Southwall Technologies. Smart has served as Chairman of Solectus, Inc., Wirestone, Inc., Southwall Technolgies, Inc., Savoir Technologies, Inc., Soque Holdings Bermuda Ltd., Polaris Electronics Inc., and Soque Capital, LLP. Smart has also served as a Director of ScanSoft Inc., and International Manufacturing Services, Inc.

Greg Elder - Vice President of Finance and Chief Financial Officer

Greg Elder is responsible for finance and administration. Elder has over 14 years of collective accounting, finance and administrative experience in start up and turn around corporate environments. Elder has a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Accounting from California State University, Hayward and a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) degree with an emphasis in Finance and International Business from Saint Mary's College.

Walter Thinfen - Chief Information Officer, Vice President of Support and Services

Walt Thinfen is responsible for directing all aspects of technology, ERP implementation, business process improvement and systems development. He brings to the Visioneer team extensive systems development and information management experience, along with a wealth of knowledge and leadership skills from more than 15 years experience in systems implementation, business operations and project management, with particular expertise in ERP systems including SAP, Oracle and CRM softwares. Thinfen graduated from California State University school of Business Administration with emphasis on Information Systems.

Bob Scaglia - Senior Vice President of Sales

Bob Scaglia is responsible for the company's North America Retail Sales strategy. Scaglia has 12 years experience in the scanner industry. Scaglia joined Visioneer in 1998 and previously held positions in Sales and Customer Service at Mustek Corporation. Scaglia attended Cal-State University Fullerton and holds an Associates Degree in Electronics.

Jon Harju - Chief Technical Officer

Known as one of the industry's foremost TWAIN driver developers, Jon Harju oversees all hardware and software development for Visioneer and Xerox DocuMate scanners ensuring a leadership position in driver development and integration with document management software from ISVs and proprietary applications from major corporations. As President of JFL Peripheral Solutions Inc., an active member of the TWAIN Working Group, Harju serves on the board of directors in the position of Co-Chair and has a solid reputation for helping other developers. Harju also participates in the combined efforts of the most influential document imaging companies to overhaul TWAIN, take it out of the consumer space and make it more appropriate for business and industrial oriented applications.

John Capurso - Vice President of Marketing

John Capurso is responsible for product and corporate marketing at Visioneer. He brings over 25 years of experience in digital imaging, document management and printing. Previously John served as Vice President of Sales for ScanSoft, a paper to digital software provider. He also held a variety of strategic sales positions within the imaging and publishing divisions at Adobe Systems for nine years where desktop publishing and PDF technology were born. John holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Worcester Polytechnic Institute in Massachusetts and an M.B.A. (Marketing) from Babson College in Wellesley, Massachusetts.

Jim Tamo – Vice President of Distribution Sales

Jim Tamo is responsible for Distribution Sales and Channel Marketing including managing Inside Sales. He has over 14 years of distribution sales experience including 3 years at a leading distributor and 6 years with Xerox Corporation where he worked as a Document Solutions Executive and Reseller Account Manager. His extensive experience, positive attitude and entrepreneurial vision help make Visioneer the successful international organization it is today. Jim made all conference in tennis both his years at Modesto Junior College and graduated from California State University, Stanislaus with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Marketing.

Peter Trapmore - EMEA Sales Director

Based in the UK office, Peter Trapmore is responsible for both European offices and focuses his time on the sales operation of Visioneer products across Europe, Eurasia, Middle East, Africa and India, with a particular focus on supporting the Developing Markets. Peter joined Visioneer in 2000 and has over 20 years experience in the IT industry, previously holding the position of Sales Director at ThrustMaster Computer Peripherals . Before joining the IT industry, Peter worked in the film industry as a Sales Manager for Columbia Tristar.
